Last year, I shared my favorite travel items on Instagram and it was so popular, I thought I would update it for you here. I hope this gives you a few ideas for your next trip.

The items I share with you are items that we’ve used over and over again on our trips. Items that make life a little easier when you have a ten hour flight in economy and items that my husband swears by as a frequent business traveler. I’ve also linked my entire storefront below, where you can find my family’s favorites for everything from national parks road trips to European holidays and everything in between!

By clicking the links below, I may earn a small commission from Amazon.com, thank you!

  • Bose noise-cancelling over-ear headphones

    Bose noise canceling headphones

Hands down the number one item that we can’t travel without are noise canceling headphones. If you have never used these, you are in for a treat. Baby crying behind you? The couple next to you talking the entire flight? Turn these bad boys on and you won’t hear a thing! It’s a splurge. But one that pays for itself on your first flight.

  • Black Sony over-ear wireless headphones with padded ear cups and headband.

    sony noise canceling headphones

If you’re looking for something a little less expensive with the same noise canceling feature. I bought my son, who is in the Marine Corps, these noise canceling headphones and he loves them. Same great noise canceling features for an affordable price.

  • Wireless earbuds in open charging case

    apple AirPods pro

My daughter loves her AirPod Pros. They are a little pricey, but the noise cancellation feature makes it worth it. We have tried knock-off brands of these and none compare.

  • White Sony wired in-ear headphones with a built-in remote and microphone.

    Sony in-Ear Earbud Headphones

I always travel with two different headphones, over the ear headphones and wired earbuds. These are inexpensive, they don’t hurt my ears and I can fall asleep listening to a book with them in (unlike the over the ear headphones).

  • Wireless audio transmitter with a 3.5mm audio jack labeled 'AirFly'

    AirFly Wireless Transmitter/Receiver

Ever wonder how you can listen to movies on a flight with your wireless headphones? Plug this into the seat back headphone jack and you can listen with your wireless headphones.

  • Portable power bank with USB ports and LED indicators

Anker Portable Charger, 10000mAh Battery Pack for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and More

A portable phone charger is one of the most important things you should have when you travel. Taking photos, videos and using google maps when you’re out and about will drain your phone battery quickly. Trust me, you will be the hero of your travel group when you whip this baby out! I like a slim, lightweight version.

  • Cover of "Rick Steves Paris 2021" featuring a Parisian statue and the Eiffel Tower against a pink sky.

    Rick Steves Paperback Guidebook

Hands down my favorite travel guide books are the Rick Steves’ Guidebooks. I have one for every country that I have visited. I love his walking tours, his museum highlight tours and his sections on how to avoid scams.

  • Compact black portable fan with Honeywell logo

Honeywell Turbo on the Go Personal Fan

If you sleep with a fan at home, you’ll love this. It’s small, but provides enough air and white noise to drown out sounds. It has a USB plug. My husband and I each have one.

  • Stack of colorful packing cubes with zippers in red, green, blue, yellow, and purple.

    Packing Cubes

I can’t live without my packing cubes. We did two weeks in Europe (a couple of times) with only a carry-on suitcase because of these. Packing cubes come in all different sizes. I use two medium ones (one for tops, one for bottoms) then I use a small one for socks and undergarments. I use these like drawers when we’re traveling and I don’t have to go digging through a suitcase.

  • Three pairs of fuzzy striped socks in different colors: gray, pink, and blue stripes.

    fuzzy socks

There’s a reason you get a face mask and socks in business class amenity kits.

Another trick I learned from flying business class was to change into comfy socks. Now, the first thing I do when I get on a long haul flight is take my shoes off and put on my fuzzy socks. Seriously, so much more comfortable than wearing shoes.

  • COVID-19 vaccination record card in a clear holder with a blue lanyard.

5 Pack Vaccine Card Protector with Waterproof Resealable Zip

We bought these last year to keep our CDC cards in good condition when traveling around Europe.

  • Black memory foam travel neck pillow with textured surface.

Swiss Tech Cool Gel Memory Foam Neck Pillow

I have tried a million travel neck pillows, including the famous TRTL pillow and nothing has worked for me like this one my sister introduced me to. You can buy it at Walmart (this is not an affiliate link). If you tend to get hot easy, you’ll love the cool gel.

  • Olly Restful Sleep gummy supplement pouch in blackberry flavor, featuring sleep support ingredients like melatonin and L-theanine, with a jet set friendly label.

    OLLY Blackberry Restful Sleep Gummy

I have a terrible time staying asleep on a plane. I discovered these on our last trip to Europe and it really worked. This is a travel size, so I just throw it in my backpack.

  • Leather cable organizers with metal buttons, securing white earphones and a USB charging cable.

    Cord Organizer

If you’re like me and you throw your headphones and charging cords into your bag, then you spend forever untangling them, you’ll love these cord keepers. Super inexpensive and I like that they aren’t black so they don’t get lost in my bag.

  • Three sleep masks in black, blue, and red colors arranged in a stack.

Blackout Eye Mask with Adjustable Strap

It wasn’t until my first business class flight that I discovered eye masks. When you fly business class, you get a little amenity bag filled with goodies. Inside this bag is always an eye mask. If it’s good enough for those passengers up front, it’s good enough for me. This was a game changer. No more waking up because your neighbor has their tv screen on all night or lights from the galley. Seriously, give it a try. I like this one because there’s no pressure on the eyes and it only has one strap.

  • Multi-port USB wall charger with interchangeable plug adapters for different regions.

Multiple USB Wall Charger, 4 Port USB Travel Power Adapter

This multiport USB adapter is a lifesaver! Perfect for international travel. It has enough ports for my phone, my Apple watch and my USB mini fan.

  • Toilet spray in citrus scent, decorative packaging

    Poo-Pourri - Travel size

I have these in every bathroom at home and I never travel without it. It works, trust me.
