Occasionally, banks offer a bonus when you transfer your credit card points to select airline and hotel partners. That means you receive more miles or hotel points from the same transfer, so you can book that flight or hotel stay with fewer bank points!
But a big bonus doesn’t automatically mean a great deal. A 70% transfer bonus from Chase to Marriott might sound amazing, but I wouldn’t move my points just for that. I’d consider it to top off a Free Night Award for a specific stay, but otherwise, I’d save my Chase points for a better redemption.

Never transfer points speculatively just because there’s a transfer bonus. Only transfer when you’ve found award availability. Your points are worth more in your credit card account than stuck in an airline account without an available award.
