Air France A350 Business Class Review: DFW to CDG With Points
In November 2025, Dan and I traveled to Europe to visit Paris, Budapest and Krakow. We flew from Dallas to Paris in Air France A350 business class, and we booked both seats using points!
We paid 60,000 miles, plus $244 in taxes and fees each, for our one-way flights from DFW to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). I transferred miles from my Capital One Venture X to Flying Blue to book them.
Points have allowed us to fly a lot more comfortably, and I love sharing exactly how we do it. In this Air France A350 business class review, I’ll walk you through how I found our award flights, how we booked them and what to expect at the airport and onboard. We flew home in the new American Airlines Flagship Suites, which I’ll review in a separate post.
Flying to Europe in a business class seat we paid 60k points + $244 for will never get old

How We Booked Air France Business Class With Points
I found two Air France business class award seats in August for our November flight. We had decided on the trip fairly last minute, so I felt very lucky to find availability for both of us.
I started my search on seats.aero, which is my favorite award search tool. Once I found seats available on the date range that worked for us, I then went directly to the Air France website to confirm that the same flights were available to book with Flying Blue miles.
Once I confirmed there were two business class seats for 60,000 miles each, I transferred 120,000 Capital One miles from my Venture X to my Flying Blue account. The transfer was instant for me, and I went back to Air France to book our flights.
We also paid $244 per person in taxes and fees. You can see the miles and cash paid in our booking screenshot below.
Stacy’s Tip:
Always confirm the seats are available on Air France before transferring your points. Capital One miles transfers cannot be reversed, and a seat showing on an award search tool may no longer be available when you go to book.
How to Find Air France Business Class Award Flights
Flying Blue is the loyalty program for Air France and KLM, and luckily, all big transferable points programs transfer to Flying Blue so it’s fairly easy to earn enough points for these flights. You can join for free, then transfer points into your account to book award flights after you find award availability.
Our Dallas to Paris business class seats cost 60,000 miles each, but the price can vary by date and flight. If your search shows a much higher price, try nearby dates before giving up.
I usually start with an award search tool like seats.aero. These tools help narrow down the search, especially when I have some flexibility with our dates. The annual price of these can be expensive and probably don’t make sense if you don’t travel a lot, but I do recommend paying for a one-month subscription whenever you are ready to redeem your miles. While nothing replaces knowing how to search for flights on your own, these award search tools (and the Alerts you can set) will save hours of your time. And I think that’s worth $10.

Here are the steps I take:
Search for flights on seats.aero, pointsyeah, awardtool, etc. Set alerts if I don’t find anything.
Once I find the flights I want, then I go to Airfrance.com
You must be logged in to search for award flights on Air France
Enter your departure and arrival cities and travel dates.
I always search one way at a time
Once you see award availability, you can transfer your points to Air France
Log into your transferable points account (Chase/Capital One, etc.) and initiate transfer
If you’re not sure how to search, transfer and book award flights, I have a step-by-step guide here.
This seats.aero search shows business class availability and what points I need to book it
This seats.aero search shows nine business class seats available. Before transferring any points, I’ll head to AirFrance.com to confirm the availability and price.
Once you find a flight on an award search tool, repeat the same search on Air France using the route, date, cabin and number of travelers.
Log in to your Flying Blue account and select the option to book with miles. I recommend searching one way at a time.
If your dates are flexible, try leaving the departure date blank to bring up the monthly award calendar. If the website requires a date, select one and check nearby dates in the results. This makes it easier to compare mileage prices before choosing your flight.
How to Earn Miles to fly Air France Business Class with points
You don’t have to fly Air France to earn Flying Blue miles. Several major U.S. rewards programs let you transfer eligible points to Flying Blue at a standard 1:1 ratio:
Chase Ultimate Rewards
Capital One miles
American Express Membership Rewards
Citi ThankYou Points, with an eligible card
Bilt Rewards
A 1:1 transfer ratio means 60,000 eligible credit card points become 60,000 Flying Blue miles.
Depending on the offer and the award flight you find, one credit card welcome bonus can provide enough miles for a one-way business class flight to Paris. Here are my recommendations:
Air France Business Class Check-In at DFW
Our flight departed from Terminal D at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Air France had a dedicated check-in counter, and we needed to stop there because we were unable to check in online. Once we reached the desk, check-in went smoothly.
Air France Business Class Lounge Access at DFW
For our November 2025 flight, Air France business class passengers had access to the the Capital One Lounge at DFW before departure. I have held the Capital One Venture X for three years and had visited this lounge several times before.
Unfortunately, the waitlist feature in the Capital One app wasn’t working, and there was a 45-minute wait to get into the lounge.
This was before the Venture X guest access changes, so I can’t say whether the wait has improved since our visit. It was disappointing, though. When lounge access is included with a business class ticket, I would expect to be able to use it before the flight. Just my two cents.
If you’re flying Air France business class from DFW, confirm your assigned lounge at check-in. Our experience reflects the lounge arrangement at the time of our trip. This summer the Sapphire Lounge opened at DFW in Terminal D and we would probably choose to visit that lounge over the Capital One Lounge for our next flight (since we are Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders).
Air France A350-900 Business Class Seats
There are 48 business class seats on the Air France A350-900 in a 1:2:1 configuration which means all seats have direct aisle access and are equipped with a privacy door. Each business class seat converts to a 6’-7’ long flat bed.
We booked seats 6D and 6H for our flight to Paris. Air France has different A350 business class cabin layouts, so check the seat map for your specific flight before choosing seats. Its earlier A350 cabin has 34 business class seats, while the newer cabin has 48 and includes sliding doors.
I always check seat lay out on AEROlopa before choosing a seat.
Each business class seat comes with a mattress pad, comforter, pillow, hanger (and the flight attendant will hang your jacket) and slippers
Each business class seat has a door for privacy and if you are not sitting by someone you know, there are also privacy doors in between the seats

I put the mattress pad on my seat at the beginning of my flight for a little extra padding and felt the seat was very comfortable.
Dan and I both slept fairly well. I will say there is limited room to lay on your side because your knees hit the seat surround. Despite that, we had plenty of room in the foot well that my feet never reached the end. Cabin temperature was comfortable and I loved being able to close the door for added privacy.
Pre-departure beverage, menu and amenity kits were handed out after boarding
AIR FRANCE SEAT BACK ENTERTAINMENT AND SEAT STORAGE
Our Air France A350 business class seats had 20-inch 4K touchscreen displays with plenty of movies, TV shows and music. I loved the large screen!
There was also Bluetooth connectivity, so you could connect your own wireless noise-canceling headphones. This is definitely a plus for me.
Each seat had wireless charging, a universal power outlet and USB-A and USB-C ports.
I love the huge 20” HD screen
The tray table and seat controls were easily accessible. A touchscreen controller let us adjust the seat and control the entertainment system. I liked the larger controller screen, although it was a bit more cumbersome than a traditional remote.
The storage cabinet held the provided over-ear headphones and a bottle of water.
Wireless charging plus universal and USB sockets
One of my favorite features was the tail camera. I loved being able to watch a movie and keep an eye on the tail camera at the same time. Super cool feature!
Air France Business Class Food on Our DFW to Paris Flight
We ate in the lounge, so we weren’t super hungry when we boarded. However, one of the best parts of flying business class is the dining service, so I wasn’t going to pass that up!
The food was good, but it didn’t blow my socks off.
I chose the Provence-style chicken for dinner, which was pretty good.
For breakfast, I chose the zucchini and red bell pepper omelet with yogurt and fruit salad.

Air France Business Class Amenity Kit
Our Air France business class amenity kit included an eye mask, toothbrush, toothpaste, Clarins hand cream and moisturizing cream. I appreciated that it was small and only had the necessities.
Final Thoughts on Booking Air France Business Class With Points
Booking two business class seats from Dallas to Paris for 60,000 miles each is exactly why I love earning transferable points. We were able to use the miles we had earned from my Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card to make the flight part of our trip a lot more comfortable.
The lounge wait at DFW was disappointing, and the food was good but didn’t blow my socks off. The comfortable seats, privacy doors and service were what stood out for me.
Air France business class is one of the lowest priced business class flights that you can book with points. Even with the recent increase in taxes and fees, this is still a fantastic redemption for your points.
The seats were very comfortable, in-flight entertainment was vast and service was better than expected. Would definitely book again!
Happy Travels!
